The leather of the strap closure for the box is somewhat stiff/cracked

showing the irregularities in the bone more dramatically than they appear to the eye

but I love the relative humility of this one (and its great silhouette)

with a minor hairline crack on the base just below where it meets the bowl

The weaving on it seems pretty complicated to this novice

The illustrative surface design, in black and blue against bright white and covering nearly every inch of it, features a young woman with quite a sculptural head of hair (!) and long dress patterned with curlicues surrounded by a dense pattern of flowers, leaves, and birds.
